On Wednesday afternoon (7/6/22), we followed a column of smoke and came upon a well-involved 3-sty newly constructed house @ 910 N Wood, extending to 912 N Wood in Chicago. This home was under construction at the time of the fire, and appeared to be receiving spray foam insulation. Engine 30 arrived and deck-gunned the front of the house, while Engine 14 backed down the alley and deck-gunned the rear. In all, six hand lines were in use with the two deck guns. Heavy fire consumed the attic space of the exposure house to the north. CFD did a great job and brought it under control quickly. Here are some shots from the fire. Full gallery is on our site.

Companies were dispatched to the report of a house fire just before 1300 hrs Sunday afternoon on the 300 block of Division in Lemont, IL.  They had heavy fire in sector C on arrival and the incident was upgraded to a full still.  A large amount of clutter inside made getting to the seat of the fire difficult.  Lines were stretched interior as well as a line that was used in sector C from the exterior in order to access the second floor.

Eventually, the fire consumed the attic space in the 2-story and 1-story portions of the home.  Companies were ordered out of the building and into defensive mode.  Lemont Engine 921’s deck gun, Tri-State’s tower ladder and Lemont Truck 949 were put to work and the remaining fire in the attic was brought under control shortly after.  The home was occupied but the owner was out and returned home to find the residence a total loss.
