Kitchener, Ontario fire fighters were dispatched for a kitchen fire at 37 Edna Street at 19:20. A2 arrived on scene first reporting light white smoke coming from the eaves of the 1.5 story house. P3 pulled two 1.75” attack lines while P4 picked up the hydrant and pulled one 1.75” line from their pumper. The fire started in the rear of the house on the main floor and extended up to the second level. The fire was knocked down in 25 minutes, with extensive overhaul on both floors. Box 690 provided rehab. Photos and video taken 10 minutes into the fire. Units on scene Pump 2, 3, 4 (using spare pump 9) 5, Aerial 2, Rescue 1, and Car 23 (PC).

Kitchener (ON) Fire dispatch received a 911 call reporting a fire on Wellington Street near Ahrens at 4:40 February 23, 2017. P2 arrived on scene reporting heavy fire showing from the main floor of a large, two-story house which was divided into four apartments. Firefighters knocked the bulk of the fire down in 20 minutes, overhaul lasted another hour. Shots taken 25 minutes into the call. Box 690 provided rehab. Crews on scene, Pump 1, 2, 3, 5, Aerial 1 , 2, Rescue 1 and Car 23 (platoon chief).

Kitchener, Ontario firefighters battled a working house fire July 7, 2016. The fire originated in the basement of the semi-detached house. Crews initially hit the fire from a rear window with a 2.5” line and briefly entered the structure to attack the fire. Due to hoarding type conditions in the basement, companies exited the building after reporting high heat and untenable conditions. Firefighters located a dog in the house and brought him out to the relieved owner. Box 690 provided rehab.

Kitchener, Ontario fire dispatch received multiple 911 calls for a house fire at 50 Breithaupt Street April 15, 2016 at 2:45. Responding firefighters could see a large glow enroute to the call. P2 arrived on scene reporting heavy fire in an attached garage with extension to two other homes. Twenty five firefighters worked two hours to knock the fire down. Two firefighters were slightly injured in a flashover on the second floor. Damage has been set at $500,000. The Ontario Fire Marshall has been called in to assist with the investigation. Box 690 on scene 6.5 hours providing rehab.

Kitchener, Ontario fire dispatch toned out a full response for Conestogo and St Jacobs, and Elmira’s tanker for a house fire at 440 Country Squire Road, April 7, 2016 at 16:50. Two Conestogo fire firefighters live a few doors up from the fire, and they reported a working fire, with heavy smoke and the possibility of an elderly lady in the house. They tried to search for the occupant but without SCBA were pushed back by heavy smoke. Conestogo arrived on scene and lines were pulled into the house and a primary search was initiated. Crews found the occupant quickly and brought her out to awaiting EMS. The elderly lady was transported to a hospital in critical condition. The fire was knocked down in ten minutes. The Ontario Fire Marshall has been called in to investigate the fire. Box 690 provided rehab.

May 24 2015, Kitchener P2 was dispatched for a high hoe on fire a block from the fire hall. Smoke and fire was visible when they pulled out of the station. Two attack lines were pulled to extinguish the fully-involved fire on arrival. The fire was in an old high hoe used to sort scrap metal. An additional pumper and aerial were called to supply water and manpower. The fire was fed by diesel fuel and hydraulic oil and was very stubborn to extinguish.
