I was right around the corner for this one. Battalion 14 reported smoke showing in the rear of a 1 sty occupied houseĀ @ 1635 s Trumbull. It appeared the fire started at the electric meter from a bad hook up on the rear of the house on the back porch. Engine 109 (2nd engine) took the alley and lead out a pre connect line to the rear. Lot of labor to get it all opened up to extinguish the fire. Companies had it all out and under control in about 20 minutes. Here are some shots I took. The rest of the photos are up on our website. Also, found some shell casings in the alley right behind the house, left over from New Years Eve! Chi-Town Fire Photos

Chicago had a still & box alarm fire in the 18th Battalion Sunday morning (12/15). The fire was at 4441 W Monroe and was in a vacant 2-story ordinary. The fire made it into the cockloft and a line was eventually stretched to the roof in order to finish the job. Eric Haak
