Kenosha firefighters responded to a dumpster fire at 30th Avenue & Roosevelt Road on Tuesday night during the third night of civil unrest. Firefighters extinguished the fire before it could spread to the Pizza Hut and a nearby house.
08/24/20 – Night two of protests in Kenosha,WI led to several business looted and set ablaze. The largest were several storefronts along 22nd ave. Kenosha activated a MABAS response to the 5th alarm bringing in several Illinois departments. Most sat in the staging area much of the night, but crews from Zion, Newport, Gurnee, and several others were put to work. Jeff Rudolph
02/05/18 – 4335 94th st. Pleasant Prairie, WI – 4th alarm
Several Illinois departments responded into Kenosha County, WI to assist Pleasant Prairie with a fire in a large home . Newport, Winthrop Harbor, Zion, Beach Park, Waukegan, Antioch, and Gurnee responded to the scene. Several others filled in at their stations. – Jeff Rudolph
Around 8 pm reports of a house on fire in the 2800 block of Glenarye Dr. in Lindenhurst (IL) began flooding FoxCom dispatch. Lake Villa FPD units arrived to find a large, two-story home well-involved. Companies went defensive and protected exposures on both sides. Mutual aid from Antioch, Gurnee, and Newport arrived to assist, but with a combination of the high winds, extreme cold temps, and the body of fire found on arrival, the home was a total loss.
