3-Alarm fire

All posts tagged 3-Alarm fire

This fire was about 0400 hours Sunday morning, near the intersection of Harrison & Clinton in Oak Park, IL. The original fire building, apparantly a 2-1/2 story frame was nothing but sticks when I arrived … totally consumed. The fire had a good hold in exposure 4 and pretty much burned the roof off of that, and was well into exposure 2 as well. The Oak Park tower operated as well as a deck gun and several hand lines. Berwyn set up their aerial pipe at the far end of the block, but to my surprise was able to hit the fire pretty well from that vantage point. Shot a lot of rigs. An interesting job to see in an area I don’t get to much.

Glenn Duda submitted these images from a fire today in West Haven, CT.

West Haven, CT – 1003 Post Rd. Gino’s Steakhouse

The City of West Haven fire alarm received multiple calls for a restaurant on fire shortly before 8:30 a.m. this morning.

First due units arrived to find heavy smoke and fire erupting from the establishment. The restaurant had been closed for several weeks for a remodel project. A second and third alarm were quickly transmitted bringing all of the city’s companies to work. The fire took about an hour to bring under control. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Clymer Apartments – 3 Alarms – City of Reading, PA – 8/4/08

A Box alarm was struck just before noontime for a reported kitchen fire with entrapment.  Companies arrived with heavy fire showing from the 1st floor.  Rapid fire spread and low water pressure hampered efforts.  Eventually 3 alarms were struck exhausting all city units.
