Kitchener Fire dispatch toned out Maryhill, Breslau, Conestogo, and St Jacobs March 26, 2016 at 21:30 for a dairy barn fire at 1025 Maryhill Road. Maryhill firefighters could see a glow in the sky as they responded to the hall. The barn is located approximately 1.5 miles from the Maryhill fire hall. The barn had just been filled with hay that afternoon. Maryhill arrived on scene reporting a fully-involved barn with serious exposures on three sides. There was a large driving shed on the E4 side, and a large L-shaped barn with 200 dairy cattle on the E1 and E2 side. A farm tractor parked beside the L-shaped barn was fully involved. Wind was blowing from the east towards the second barn. Port-a-tanks were set up and water was initially drawn from two reservoirs in Maryhill and a hydrant in Breslau six miles from the scene. 03/27/16 West Haven, CT – A quiet Easter morning quickly turned chaotic as West Haven Firefighters were alerted to a fire in an occupied apartment building. Firefighters were afforded a quick response due to the firehouse being two blocks away. Members arrived to find a top floor apartment fire in a large, three-story, ordinary. Three hand lines were stretched via the interior stairwell to rapidly extinguish the blaze. Primary and secondary searches proved negative and trucks overhauled to bring the fire under control. No one was hurt in the blaze and the cause of the fire is under investigation by the marshal’s office. Most of the residents were allowed back into the building after the fire was out.

Libertyville (IL) firefighters were called to an address in Green Oaks (their fire district, an unincorporated area of Lake County) after a smoke alarm woke the resident. He looked out the window and saw flames from a van parked alongside the attached garage. The first engine pulled into the driveway six minutes later and dumped the tank through a deck gun as flames were already through the roof. The area has no hydrants and they were subsequently nursed by their tanker and then other tankers shuttled into place. There were no injuries and the fire was kept from communicating to the house.
