Going into the way-back machine for this fire on the northwest corner of Belmont and Pulaski.  This building still stands today and is still a corner tavern.  Kind of a neat series of images as the unknown photographer catches companies pulling up with smoke pushing out the side door.  As the fire is brought under control, you can see a dog mounted on top of Engine 91’s Ahrens-Fox.  The final image is kind of funny as a car goes driving down Belmont with a couch tied to the roof.  I could not find any markings to identify either of the trucks, and in the final image there is what I believe is a squad on Pulaski to the far right.

Residents called the Wheeling (IL) Fire Department Wednesday evening (July 23rd) reporting some sort of explosion in the kitchen at 293 Lincoln Road. When the first police officer arrived, he reported smoke showing and that one person needed medical attention. Firefighters arrived within minutes and confirmed a fire inside the split-level house.

One ambulance transported the civilian to an area hospital and the alarm was upgraded to the working fire. Two interior lines were used to make quick work of extinguishing the fire.

Arlington Heights, Buffalo Grove, Lincolnshire-Riverwoods, and Northbrook units responded to the scene in addition to two engines, two ambulances, a truck, and two chief officers from Wheeling.

Montgomery County Fire & Rescue 3rd and 4th battalion units were toned out for the Building Fire on Friday at the Burger King on Darnestown Road.  Firefighters arrived to find fire and smoke showing from the entrance of the restaurant and made a quick interior and exterior attack.  A tower ladder and tiller were established on adjacent sides of the building, and firefighters opened up the roofing area around the entrance-way using ground ladders, chain saws and Halligan tools.  Firefighters applied foam to the roofing to knock down remaining hot spots.

Units from Rockville, Kensington, Germantown, along with the Mobile Air Unit responded.  The fire was under control within minutes of arrival with overhaul taking approx. 45 min to complete.

Montgomery County Fire & Rescue units from Bethesda and Silver Spring responded to the building fire in downtown Bethesda on Tuesday evening.  Units arrived to find a smoke haze on the penthouse level.  Truck companies provided ventilation and Rescue 1 (Bethesda Chevy Chase Rescue Squad 741) did a search and investigation of the building floors.  The issue was determined to be a malfunctioning HVAC unit.

Here are some apparatus shots and crew pickup including Truck 706 with their extended aerial ladder to the building.

July 22 2014, 05:30 Kitchener Ontario firefighters were dispatched for a fire behind 340, and 342 Louisa St. Two pumps, quint aerial, rescue, and PC responded on the first alarm. The fire was visible from HQ 2.5 miles from the scene, prompting the PC to add P1 (75’ quint to the call).

Station two was on scene two minutes later reporting one multi-unit, three-story building under construction fully involved, as well as a second multi-unit building well involved. Large lines were in order.  A2 and P3 caught hydrants. P3 pulled a 4” line around the back of the units on Louisa and set up a portable hydrant. A2 set up in front, P1 in rear. A4 and P7 were added to the call, P7 set up in rear and pulled two 2.5” lines and used their monitor.

The fire extended into the occupied units on Louisa St., heavily damaging three units. P1 and P3 firefighters were able to protect the seven units on the E2 side of the fully-involved building which were 75% complete, as well as six units on Louisa St that were finished.

Fourteen units under construction were destroyed as well as the three occupied units. Damage has been pegged at $5,000,000. The Ontario Fire Marshall is working with Kitchener Fire Prevention officers and Regional Police detectives to determine the cause.
